With good luck and great service from the staff of SGBC, I will be attending the WorldGBC International Congress 2010 13 – 16 September 2010 at Sands Expo Convention and Exhibition Center; Marina Bay Sands, Singapore.
I am actually looking forward to the congress: I want to know what is going on in the modern world of green building. I hope to gain new insights and to be inspired to get back to work! Real, office work!
Since I got back from Panya (and after being “enlightened” with a new world-view), I have been very skeptical about the so-called “modern green Eco-architecture” stuff. BUT, hanging on to my “new-belief” isn’t getting me anywhere. I must find a balance between these 2 world.
Sorry my Eco-Hippie mates, I’m gonna mingle with the Conservative and will “act” Conventional now. I will hang out in this sinful grand building that they have built, in the expense of spoiling our limited natural resources.
Marina Bay Sands
Yes… that means, I will wash my hair with toxic shampoo and conditioner so my hair smells good and shiny, I’ll eat and drink from the Styrofoam cups and plates they will be using, I might even be wearing thick make up to look “professional”, definitely will be wearing high-heels and sleek modern business attire that I had back when I was still a consumerist (wait… I think I should get new shoes, new shirt and new bag, what I have now is from 2009 and it’s outdated, ahhh…. gotta go shopping now….).
I promise you, this is all just an “Act”. I’m still the same-ole free-spirited girl who hates the corporate world and wants to live peacefully off-the-grid in a farm somewhere far far farrrr away from the city.
